Latest US news about Leslie Van Houten
According to Newsom in his parole evaluation, Van Houten, 72, “now constitutes an undue threat to society if released from jail at this time.
According to the Latest US news, the judgment will be contested in court, but her attorney, Rich Pfeiffer, disagreed with that assessment. He asserted that Newsom had rejected Van Houten’s request for release due to concerns about “his political future” and mentioned that Van Houten has a perfect prison disciplinary record.
We’re not at odds because Leslie is a decent person. She has demonstrated that via her deeds for fifty years,” he remarked.
For aiding in the murder of Los Angeles grocery store owner Leno LaBianca and his wife, Rosemary, in August 1969, Van Houten is currently serving a life sentence.
When the LaBiancas were tragically murder, and their blood spread on the walls, Van Houten and other cult members were 19 years old.
Van Houten was not the only Manson supporter who killed pregnant actress Sharon Tate and four others the day before.
In his refusal letter, Newsom acknowledged that Van Houten had received counselling, completed college degrees, attended self-help programs while incarcerated, and demonstrated “improved maturity and rehabilitation.”
However, Latest US news according to Newsom, Van Houten also has “gaps in knowledge” that keep her a threat to society.
Since 1982, Van Houten has gone through 21 parole hearings. Most parole committees rejected her request for release. However, five committees have since 2016 recommended her out because she had shown regret and was no longer a danger to the public.
The Back Story
Leslie Van Houten, then 17 years old, and her lover fled to San Francisco’s Haight-Ashbury neighbourhood during the 1967 Summer of Love. It has been more than 50 years since that time.
She met Charles Manson while travelling down the coast of California, where he was staying at a run-down movie ranch outside of Los Angeles.
There, he enlisted what he called a “family” to help them survive the impending race war he planned to trigger by carrying out a string of terrifyingly random killings.
After being release from jail on prostitution-relate charges in 1967, Manson founded the cult, mostly made up of young women from California. They collectively took on the name “Manson Family.”
The playground slide in the song, according to Paul McCartney, is a metaphor for the expansion and decline of the Roman Empire. On the other hand, Manson saw the lyrics as a call to start a racial conflict. He went to the album’s lyrics to support his plan and instruct his followers in murder.
According to Elle, Sharon Tate was killed on August 9, 1969, eight and a half months pregnant, in the Los Angeles house, she share with Roman Polanski.
She hosted a dinner party for three acquaintances at her home the night of the murders: hairdresser Jay Sebring, WojciechFrykowski, a friend of Polanski, and his partner, coffee heiress Abigail Folger. Quincy Jones was suppose to go, but he forgot about the invitation.
Conclusion
Newsom rejected a recommendation from last November.
